Cider Server

We are looking for friendly, talented and responsible people to join our team at Doc Waters Cidery for the 2021 season. This is a part time position on Friday evenings, Saturdays and Sundays.

Must demonstrate genuine hospitality and deliver exceptional customer service, must love people

Must be 21 years of age or older

Alcohol Awareness Training Certificate a plus

Orchard Manager

Join our team in vibrant Montgomery County MD within the Agricultural Reserve. Waters Orchard grows about 15 acres of high-density apples for Pick Your Own and hard cider production, including specialty cider varieties. Experienced candidate is a motivated self-starter and will manage Orchard operations. Bring strong communication and leadership skills to enhance and expand the Orchard in coordination with Doc Waters Cidery.
Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Overseeing the general operations and maintenance of the Orchard
  • Managing the needs of the Orchard by monitoring weather patterns and addressing concerns swiftly in conjunction with the Orchard staff
  • Ability to work weekends as required
  • Creating and implementing standard operating procedures
  • Ensure overall health of fruit trees including applications, fertilization, IPM Scouting for overall sustainability
  • Optimize harvest capacity and coordinate with Pick Your Own and cider production operations
  • Maintain records and report key data
  • Train and supervise staff
  • Lead implementation of cutting-edge modern orchard practices, techniques and equipment
  • Oversee preventative maintenance and repair of equipment and tools
  • Attend industry or management educational conferences and tours

Qualifications:

  • A solid background in Horticulture is crucial; 3-5 years of related horticultural experience required
  • A high level of practical Orchard operations, entomology and tree fruit knowledge
  • Excellent leadership ability, must enjoy teaching and leading staff
  • High level of analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong time management and stress management abilities
  • Possess a sound work ethic with passion and pride in your work and be honest, trustworthy and respectful.
